Tot Trays: Day and Night

Whoo!! We are halfway done with summer, y’all! Are your kids bored yet?! (I may have mentioned here a time or two that I am not a fan of summer weather–really looking forward to some cooler temperatures and the return to park days.) Here are the toys my girls are playing with THIS WEEK:

Lone Star Signers: Toy Rotation, Week 12

Week 12

Signing class theme: Day & Night

Signing Time video: Baby Signing Time: A New Day

Main book: Time for a Hug by Phillis Gershator and Mim Green (I stumbled upon this gem at the library–so many great vocabulary words mixed in with adorable illustrations.)

Toys with unlimited access:

Night-Time Sensory Bin from Lone Star Signers

We also have a night-time sensory bin with black beans, shiny stars, and white pom poms. We picked up these mini-pots at Dollar Tree last week, and my toddler loves pouring and dumping with them.

Here’s my Tot School: Day & Night Pinterest board–

Tot Trays:

  1. Pom-pom color sorting: use tongs for fine-motor practice. (You could even use dice to practice counting!)
  2. Star lacing activity (Kate has already asked for a moon shape, too.)
  3. Blue buttons for lacing and sorting (We’re singing a little Pete the Cat over here!)
  4. Simple craft stick color-matching activity

We aren’t using printables this week, but there are a few available on my Pinterest board.

What are your kiddos playing with this week?

  1. You are a wonderfully organized Mother! Wish I had been so, they are all grown and on their own. Your children will be ruling the world one day! Pinning these great ideas!

  2. I’m impressed! Our week is usually go go go and not this thought out – I love the moon activity with oreos I spotted in your pinterest board!

I love your comments, and try to reply back here!
